UN Security Council to discuss Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Sunday

New York [US], October 8: The UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone is scheduled for 10p. (19:00 GMT) on Sunday, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy said on Saturday.
"The extraordinary Security Council meeting is scheduled for 3pm New York time on Sunday," Polyanskiy said on Telegram.
A UNSC source told Sputnik that the time of the meeting may change depending on the availability of the rapporteurs. It is also being discussed whether the meeting will be held in a closed or open format.
At least 200 people were killed and more than 1,100 wounded in Israel in the major surprise attack launched by Hamas from the Gaza Strip, on Saturday.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli retaliatory strikes killed at least 232 people and wounded nearly 1,700, according to the Health Ministry there. (Sputnik)
