Thunberg handed another Swedish court fine for disobeying police

Oct 12, 2023

Stockholm [Sweden], October 12: Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been fined for the second time for defying police orders during protests against the oil industry.
The 20-year-old was sentenced on Wednesday by the Malmo District Court to pay 90 daily fines of 50 Swedish kronor ($4.60) each. She must also pay 1,000 kronor to a fund to support victims of violence.
In court, Thunberg wore a T-shirt with the inscription "Stand Up For Science" and denied that the disobedience was a criminal act. Thunberg had already been given a court fine in Malmo on July 24 for not following police instructions during a protest in the oil port of the southern Swedish city. (DPA)
