Warsaw [Poland], January 2: In his New Year's address, Polish President Andrzej Duda warned the new government against violating the constitution and the rule of law.
In the televised speech on Sunday evening he criticized the government's radical restructuring of the public media in particular.
The pro-European government led by former EU Council president Donald Tusk, which has been in office since mid-December, had accused the public television station TVP, Polish radio and the news agency PAP of spreading party propaganda in recent years under the government of the conservative nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party.
