KCNA reported that Chairman Kim personally supervised the test of a tactical ballistic missile equipped with a new guidance system, and he was satisfied with the results.
Seoul said the test firing took place in the Wonsan coastal area of ​​North Korea. The missiles traveled about 300 km in the direction of the sea, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Korean side shared the information obtained with the US and Japan.
This is the latest missile test in a series of increasingly complex weapons testing events by Pyongyang. In recent months, North Korea has continuously tested cruise missiles, tactical rockets and hypersonic weapons, causing concern for the South Korea-US-Japan alliance.
The missile test took place one day after the US and South Korea held joint exercises with the participation of stealth fighters, simulating air combat campaigns.
