Maldives' police rescue 13 people adrift at sea

Male [Maldives], March 3: Maldivian marine police rescued 13 individuals, including 10 foreign divers and local instructors, who were adrift in the sea due to strong currents on Saturday morning.
Police said in a statement that a marine police speed boat initially spotted two individuals in distress near Gan, an uninhabited island of Southern Huvadhu Atoll.
After rescuing them, marine police found other divers had been swept away by strong currents. Marine police launched a search and rescue operation, during which everyone was rescued, police said.
