Israel threatens to send Lebanon back to the Stone Age if there is a war

Jerusalem [Israel], June 27: The statement was made by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant while visiting the US to discuss the war situation in the Middle East, according to Reuters. "We do not want war, but we are preparing for all developments. Hezbollah understands very well that we can cause huge damage to Lebanon if a war is launched," Mr. Gallant warned. Emphasizing that the government prioritizes diplomatic solutions.
Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have emerged at the Israel -Lebanon border since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
Mr. Gallant said Israel has killed more than 400 Hezbollah fighters in recent months.
Reuters quoted Lebanese news agency as saying that at least five civilians were injured in an Israeli airstrike in the Al-Mashaa area of Nabatieh city (Lebanon) on June 26. The airstrike destroyed an apartment building and damaged dozens of houses and cars.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog on the same day inspected northern Israel after months of fighting with Hezbollah . Meanwhile, President Herzog on June 26 ended his 2-day trip to northern Israel with his wife Michal. The leader criticized the world for not acting decisively enough to help de-escalate tensions and not providing security support to the Israeli people "after consecutive violations of international treaties and agreements from the Lebanese side." and Hezbollah".
Some Western countries such as Canada, Germany and the Netherlands have in recent days advised citizens to leave Lebanon soon due to the risk of escalating violence between Hezbollah and Israel.
