Iran prepared to respond to Israeli 'aggression,' says semi-official agency

Tehran [Iran], October 26: Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency said the Islamic Republic was prepared to respond to any Israeli "aggression" following Saturday's Iranian strikes.
"There is no doubt that Israel will face a proportional reaction for any action it takes," Tasnim quoted sources as saying.
In response to Israeli strikes on Iranian military targets, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-backed militias, claimed responsibility for a drone attack against a "military target" in northern Israel.
"Islamic Resistance fighters in Iraq carried out a drone attack at dawn on Saturday against a military target in Acre," the group said in a statement on Telegram.
Numerous explosions heard across Iranian capital
Iranian state TV reported that several loud explosions were heard in capital Tehran and nearby city Karaj city early on Saturday morning.
There was no official comment about the source of the explosions.
Israel has been planning its response to a ballistic missile barrage carried out by Iran on October 1. That was the second time Tehran directly targeted Israel with missile salvos since the war in Gaza began.
Iran says it shot down Israel's attack, country activates air defence
Iran media on Saturday said that the country's air defence systems in central Tehran in response to the escalating attacks by Israel.
State news agency IRNA said that Iran has successfully shot down "adversial targets" in the airspace around Tehran province.
Iranian state television noted hearing six loud sounds resembling explosions in parts of the capital, with the source of the noises currently unverified. It reported an Iran military official as stating that the Air defence systems were operated to foil attacks on three different locations near Tehran
A security source informed IRNA that some of the sounds heard were due to air defence activity in Tehran, and the air defence successfully operated during this incident.
