China tightens economic ties with Serbia

Here, President Xi had a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade (Serbia) on the afternoon of May 8 (Vietnam time).
Mr. Xi's visit is considered highly symbolic because it coincides with the date of NATO 's shocking bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade 25 years ago.
In addition, Serbia is considered to play a central role in China 's strategy to penetrate the European market. During the talks between Mr. Xi and Mr. Vucic, the two countries signed the "Declaration of Participation on Building a Community of Shared Future". On the Serbian side, President Vucic declared his support for the view that Taiwan is part of China. "We have a clear and simple view on China's territorial integrity," Vucic said. Previously, Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali told RTS that discussions between the leaders of Serbia and China would focus on a large project. "We are aiming to attract major investment from China into a very promising area," he said.
After Serbia, Mr. Xi will arrive in Hungary on the evening of May 8.
