Afghan security forces seize 188 kg illicit drugs

Kandahar [Afghanistan], November 17: Afghan security forces have seized 188 kg of drugs used in manufacturing heroin in southern Kandahar province, provincial police spokesman Mullah Asadullah Jamshidi said on Saturday.
The contraband was confiscated during a counter-narcotic operation conducted in Ghorak district of this province, the official said, adding that further investigation is underway.
The Afghanistan administration has banned poppy cultivation and vowed to crack down on illicit drugs.
