Beirut [Lebanon], December 26: Two Hezbollah fighters were killed and five civilians were wounded on Monday in confrontations on the Lebanese-Israeli borders, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the casualties were due to Israeli heavy artillery bombing at least 21 border villages and towns in southern Lebanon and Israeli warplanes launching 16 raids on many areas of south Lebanon.
The sources noted that the Israeli bombing led to the destruction of seven houses and caused damage to 22 homes and five vehicles.
Hezbollah also announced on Monday that its fighters carried out a series of attacks on Israeli sites, including buildings in the Miskav Am settlement, a gathering of Israeli soldiers at the Birkat Risha site, and so on.
The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 177 on the Lebanese side, including 126 Hezbollah members and 32 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources.
